Tankless water heaters under 100,000 Btu (Paloma
PH12 and Paloma PH6) require
Zurn TP 1100A-4C temperature and pressure relief valve.
All tankless water heaters over 100,000 Btu (Takagi
TK1, Takagi TK2, Takagi
TKD20, Takagi TM1) require Zurn
1000A pressure relief valve.
Replacement for Watts Regulator Model 100XL-4, Cash Acme Model NCLX-5.
Installation Instructions:
1. Install relief valve in the top of the hot water storage tank.
2. Install so that sensing thermostat extending through the valve threaded inlet
is placed within the upper 6 inches of the tank.
3. No valve is to be placed between the relief valve and the tank.
4. The outlet of the valve shall terminate in the vicinity of apoint of drainage.
The termination of the discharge line shall be doenward, not be directly connected
to a sewer line, and shall not be threaded.
5. No reducing coupling or other restriction shall be installed in the discharge
line.
6. The discharge line shall be installed to allow complete drainage of both the
valve and the line.
7. Excessive length of dicharge line (> 15 Ft.) may reduce capacity of valve.
8. Material type of discharge pipe must be capble of withstanding 250°F without
distortion.
Note: The above precautions are stipulated by FHA and ANSI standards.
